Biography
Neil McPhee has worked with the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution for more than 20 years. He is currently a Senior Engineering Assistant in the Instrument Systems Development Lab of the Applied Ocean Physics and Engineering Department. He has worked on a wide range of projects, including buoy mounted meteorological sensors, large-scale ocean temperature measurements using acoustics, near shore ocean acoustics, and various AUV projects. Before joining the WHOI team, Neil worked as an aviation tech in the US Coast Guard and was qualified as an Avionicsman and Search and Rescue Aircrewman aboard the HH-3F helicopter. He also flew as a Radioman and Assistant Flight Engineer aboard the Lockheed HC-130.
